Connect to Library Resources

Alumni have a number of options for accessing UBC Library e-resources. 

UBC Library has secured Alumni access to many e-resources. Details are available here. Alumni with a CWL will automatically be able to access these resources using OpenAthens.

For Alumni without a CWL, please contact the Library to request an OpenAthens access account. Once you have an OpenAthens access account, there are two options for logging in:

• Go to https://openathens.library.ubc.ca
• Scroll down and log into OpenAthens using your OpenAthens username/password
• You will be redirected to the UBC Library homepage and will remain logged in for the duration of your browser session

Or

• Go to https://library.ubc.ca
• At Login (top right), choose OpenAthens Login
• Scroll down and log into OpenAthens using your OpenAthens username/password
• You will be redirected to the UBC Library homepage and remain logged in for the duration of your browser session

Alumni are invited to access other library e-resources by visiting a library branch in person. Many Alumni may use CWL to log in to a computer at the library to access e-resources. For Alumni without a CWL, guest passes are available. Please check the current hours for library branches. 

Emeriti may log in to UBC Library e-resources via OpenAthens using CWL. More information on Library services for Emeriti is available.
