Connect to Library Resources

Connect Online to Library Resources

UBC Library uses a series of tools to connect students, staff and faculty with digital and print resources. To access licensed resources valid UBC credentials are required.

  • Beginning in early June 2021, the Library will replace EZproxy with OpenAthens, a secure, single sign-on authentication service that enables access to licensed electronic resources both on and off campus. With OpenAthens, you’ll be able to start almost anywhere online where single sign-on (SSO) is used. [Single sign-on is an authentication method that enables users to securely authenticate with multiple websites by using just one set of credentials. More information to come.] As we prepare for our Go Live date, users may find that both EZproxy and OpenAthens authentication options are available on selected platforms. For help with problems encountered accessing resources, please use our eResources & Access Help Form.
  • UBC Library currently uses EZProxy as the primary tool for off-campus access to licensed library resources.
  • In the spring 2020, UBC Library implemented a Library Access Browser Extension to provide the UBC community with easy access to library resources without requiring a visit to the Library website.
