One source of bias in the medical literature is publication bias - a failure to publish results of all the research that's been done on a topic. The AllTrials initiative aims for all authors to register clinical trials they are conducting (in clinicaltrials.gov or similar registries) and report results within a reasonable time after the trial ends.
