Shell is a global group of energy and petrochemical companies headquartered in The Hague, the Netherlands. The parent company of the Shell group is Royal Dutch Shell plc, which is incorporated in England and Wales.
Headquartered in Calgary, Shell Canada has operated in Canada since 1911 and employs over 8200 people. In 2007, Shell acquired the remaining outstanding shares of Shell Canada. Shell Canada was delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange and now operates as a private subsidiary of Shell. In 2008, Shell Canada represented nearly a third of all global recruitment. It holds approximately 30% of Royal Dutch Shell’s global resource base.
