MLA 9th Edition Citation Style Guide

Quick tips

In MLA the container for social media is either the website, such as YouTube or the app, like Instagram. 
 
You will need to include the text of the social media post, and do not edit the spelling, capitalization, hashtags, or links. 
 

Twitter and Instagram

EXAMPLE - Tweet

The Museum of English Rural Units [@TheMERL]. "Look at this absolute unit." Twitter, 9 Apr. 2018, https://twitter.com/themerl/status/983341970318938112.

EXAMPLE - Instagram photo or video
