Aritzia LP is a vertically-integrated retailer of women's apparel, offering fashionable and trendy clothing to 15-35 year olds. Begun in Vancouver in 1984, in Hill's department store, Aritizia operates over 40 boutiques in select markets across the US and Canada, including New York, Vancouver, Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto, Portland, and Seattle. It will open its largest retail store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan in the fall of 2012.
In 2005, Aritzia entered a partnership with Boston investment house Berkshire Partners, which assumed 63 per cent ownership. (Source: Various)
