EBSCOhost User Interface Migration, Aug - Dec 2025

Information about UBC's migration to the new EBSCOhost user interface

Where to find information

For information about the new UI, we recommend starting with the following lists of how-tos and tutorials. You can also search the EBSCOConnect site.

New "My Dashboard" and saved searches

In the new UI, My Dashboard replaces folders and custom folders in the old MyEBSCO. Saved searches in a user's general MyEBSCO folder will be migrated to My Dashboard, with some limitations (see link below).

***Please note that searches saved to a custom folder in MyEBSCO will not be migrated over***. If you have a saved search in a custom folder that you want migrated to My Dashboard in the new UI, please move it to your general folder. See the resources linked below for detailed instructions.

New URL format

As part of the UI transition, EBSCO has also introduced a new URL format. Please note that your existing EBSCOhost links and search boxes should continue to work after migration--no immediate updates are required. While EBSCO recommends that users take steps to update their links to the new URL format, redirects should be in place to ensure uninterrupted access.

For reference, the old URL format looks like this:

The new URL format looks like this:

After migration, you'll notice the new URL format being used in UBC Library eResource discovery and access interfaces (e.g., the Resource Pages and Summon).

EBSCO has more information on the new link format in the article below. If you're a Library employee with questions about updating your own EBSCOhost links (e.g., on a LibGuide or branch website) please contact TDUX for assistance.
