You can search for your topic using Summon. Remember to limit your search under Content Type to Newspaper Article and/or Magazine Article.
You can also search directly in a specialized newspaper database. Here are two databases of Canadian news sources but there are many others and you might find it helpful to start at the UBC Library Newspapers and News Sources Research Guide.
