Mood Board Activity

Mood Board:

A mood board is a tool that many industries use to help hone visual ideas at the start of a creative project. In fashion, it focuses the designer’s mind on the aesthetic, style and direction of the collection, while also relaying the colour influences and design area. It also serves as a guideline and constant source of further inspiration while finalising the new collection.

Challenge:

Imagine that you are in Fluevog’s design team! You are given the task of creating a mood board for the Autumn Winter 2020 Season.  What mood board will you create that will best represent the “vibes, emotions and silhouettes” of the Season and Fluevog’s target audience?

Guidelines:

1. Go to Canva.com

2. Set up an account to start creating. On the landing page, type “mood board” in the search bar and choose Mood Boards Photo Collage in the drop down. Choose any free template and have fun!

3. To submit your entry:
Click on Download and choose Share Link. Copy the link and send it to lam.ref@ubc.ca

All entries are due by Monday, December 16th at noon and will be judged by John Fluevog himself! The mood board chosen by John will win a Fluevog gift card!

UBC Fluevoger profiles

As part of the Fluevog Shoe Series, 5 UBC community members were interviewed about their Fluevog shoes. Check out UBC's Small Business Accelerator Program's blog to read about our very own Fluevoggers. Read the profiles to find out when they got their first pair of Fluevogs, how many pairs they own as well as interesting stories behind their Fluevogs.

Special Thanks

A heartfelt thank-you to all those who made this exhibition possible, particularly Stephen Bailey and Jodie Sentes from John Fluevog Shoes, artist Robert Chaplin, and Diane Kennedy of Cherry Velvet. And many thanks, of course, to John  Fluevog, who has inspired so many over his fifty-year career.
