NRSG 504: Finding and Integrating Knowledge for Evidence-Informed Practice

This guide is designed for the rapid review assignment for NRSG 504 at UBC's Okanagan Campus, Summer 2024. As part of the course you will be required to produce an evidence report as the major assignment in the course. Fortunately, the assignment is structured so that you have an opportunity to submit portions of the assignment, get feedback, and then revise those portions prior to the final submission.

Recommended work plan:

  1. Create Covidence Account
  2. Search Medline for your topic using MeSH (if you have lots of results use step #3 below)
  3. Combine your Medline results with methodological search filters (qualitative and/or quantitative)
    note: See Medline tab on left for instructions on how to do this
  4. Save results as a RIS file and upload to Covidence
  5. Search CINAHL using CINAHL Headings
  6. Apply limiters of Research Articles
  7. Save results as a RIS file and upload to Covidence
