Databases
In class we reveiwed using the Web of Science interface to explore the WoS Core Collection and Medline. You may also want to check the following way of searching Medline, or explore the more specific options of PsycInfo or SportDiscus. Below is a sample search that might be run in the EBSCO interface for each of these databases, as well as a highlight of some of the limits one can apply.
- MEDLINE (via EBSCOhost) This link opens in a new windowPremier international index to biomedical research covering more than 5000 journals and indexing over 22 million citations from 1946 to present.
- SportDiscus This link opens in a new windowInternational database that covers all aspects of sport and fitness
- PsycInfo (includes full text from PsycArticles) This link opens in a new windowCovers psychology and the psychological aspects of various other disciplines. Contains citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books, and technical reports, as well as citations to dissertations.
- Web of Science Core Collection This link opens in a new windowMultidisciplinary database of journal articles and conference proceedings, used for citation analysis of research. Includes access to EndNote Basic, a web-based version of EndNote.
