Students in economics courses should consult their course syllabus and assignments for details on which citation style to follow. 

• The publications of the Canadian Economics Association utilize the Chicago Author-Date system for its journals, Canadian Journal of Economics and Canadian Public Policy
• The American Economics Association uses the Chicago Author-Date system for all of its journal publications.

UBC Library provides online access to the Chicago Manual of Style as well as a Quick Guide on both of the Chicago systems for citation ( Author-Date, and Humanities).
