When looking for data in Canada it is important to consider which level of government is best suited to your search as they often produce and provide different kinds of data from one another. 

Typically the federal government provides the most expansive, but also often least regionally specific data. In contrast individual municipalities will often have the most locally specific information while also being more restricted in their scope and range of subjects covered.
