About UBC AR Explore

UBC AR Explore uses a smartphone camera as a scanner to provide overlaid AR menu links and mobile context-specific access to remotely stored resources. This is designed to support library literacy and wayfinding in the UBC Education library and Chapman Learning Commons.

  • To begin scanning simply press the ‘Begin Scanning’ button on the main menu.
  • If asked to access your device’s camera, select ‘OK’.
  • Use your device’s built in camera to pan over a target.
  • When the target is highlighted you can then click on the ‘Get Resources’ button.
  • You will then be able to access all of the relevant resources.

UBC AR Explore is available for iOS devices on the App Store. Coming soon to Google Play.
