The John Sanderson Collection
The books that comprise this special collection were collected and donated to Mark Turin and Sara Shneiderman in 2014 by John Sanderson, a former Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Rajasthan, India. Many of the books in the collection were purchased from the estate of Ferdinand E. Okada, a scholar who had been active in Nepal from the 1950s onwards, through a second-hand book seller in New York city.
The books were donated without restriction and form the basis of a non-circulating collection held in the Himalaya Program office in the Institute of Asian Research at UBC-Vancouver.
Please download the file above to view the entire collection of books available. To access the books in this collection, please contact the Himalaya Program at himalaya.arts@ubc.ca
