There are a couple steps we recommend for learning more about how to grow and save your seeds!
Seed Farms and Vendors - Try looking up your seeds on the websites of local seed growers and vendors. Many of the seeds we have will list the originating seed farm or vendor on the label. Look up the seed on their website for more information about how to grow it and even how to save seeds for next year (and donation back to the Seed Lending Library!). Even if the seed you chose doesn't list a farm or vendor, try looking it up on the websites of some of these local seed farms and vendors: UBC Farm; West Coast Seeds; BC Eco Seed Co-op; Ravensong Seeds and Herbals; Metchosin Farm; etc.
Books and Databases - Look for planting and seed saving information in the UBC Collection. Look for book displays located near our Seed Lending Library cabinets and bins, check out our booklist, and search our catalogue. You can also find good information in online databases like the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Centre plant database.
Seed Saving - In addition to the above, you can find good, introductory guides on saving seeds below! You can find more resources from Seeds of Diversity and FarmFolk CityFolk.
