Community Engaged Learning

The Centre’s programming and initiatives align and advance a learning journey for students that is progressive; moving a student from the early stage of awareness and understanding, through to co-creation, innovation, and real-time action on social and environmental challenges affecting communities both locally and globally. CCEL has designed a self-directed course for faculty and instructors interested in community engaged pedagogies. The course is intended for practitioners with the goal of creating a space to share relevant teaching resources and nurture discussions among instructors.

The Community Service Learning Program (CSL) offers students opportunities to connect in classroom learning with real life experiences in the community. This is done through both curricular (course based) and co-curricular (open to all students) programs and projects with community partners.
