Pang Jingtang Collection / 龐鏡塘藏書
Pang Jingtang (1900-1977) held several positions of high profile in government, military as well as the Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) during the regime of Chiang Kai-shek in mainland China.
The Pang Jingtang collection, donated to UBC Asian Library by the Pang family in 2000, consists of 94 titles including 841 volumes of books that mainly cover classics, history, philosophy and literature. A majority of the works were published prior to 1796 including many Ming editions and a few manuscripts that are considered as the only extant copies. Also, the collection contains over 20 items of stele rubbings and handwritings of prominent historical figures.
龐鏡塘( 1900- 1977)在蔣介石執政時期歷任黨政軍要職。龐鏡塘精於收藏，所藏書籍中有不少珍本善籍。本館所藏“龐鏡塘藏書”由龐氏後人於2000年捐贈，共94種， 841冊，涵蓋經、史、子、集四大類，多為明版善本，部分為稿抄本，堪稱孤本。此外，亦有歷代名家手跡及碑版二十余種包括其中，如《董其昌蘭亭泥全寫本》、《熊廷弼，楊漣紮合冊》、《定武本蘭亭》等，皆彌足珍貴。
The Puban Collection, formerly owned by Yao Junshi of Macao and acquired by UBC in 1959 with funds from the Friends of the Library and Dr. Walter Koerner, contains some 3,200 Chinese titles in about 45,000 volumes in thread-stitched binding, the majority of which came from the well-known Nanzhou Studio of Guangdong Province. With numerous rare editions in many subject fields such as history, literature, philology and philosophy, it is one of the most distinguished Chinese collections in North America.
蒲阪藏書原為澳門姚鈞石所藏，本館於1959年獲圖書館之友及姜納博士（Dr. Walter Koerner）捐款購入。該藏書共有線裝古籍約3，200種，45,000余冊，多半為廣東著名之南州書樓舊藏，涵蓋文史哲等多學科，堪稱北美最卓越之中文藏書之一。
在儒家典籍類內之古典語文學，半數（約有二百五十種）為文學理論、音韻學，尤以文字學為多。歷史類內有最引註目之方誌，包括廣東省五十六個地區，以及中國境內約五十個著名山脈。哲學類收書不多，但具有趣味性之藝術、考古學、拓本，尤以印章為多。
