Business Case Studies

This guide helps you find sources of case studies, as well as resources that can help you analyze and write cases, and prepare for case competitions.

Business cases summarize fictitious or real life events faced by management, companies, and industries. Cases can be used for educational or training purposes, or as the basis for problem solving events, like business school case competitions. There are publishers, like the Harvard Business School Press, which produce and sell cases for teaching and learning purposes. There are also other sources of case studies, including books, articles, and free internet sources.   

Case studies provide a framework for problem solving, as they enable students to explore, understand and analyze situations with which they may not have had first-hand experience. Analyzing cases allows students to apply the concepts and theory that they have been learning, and to practice the critical thinking and problem solving skills that they have been developing in their academic careers.
