The primary objectives of the Pan-Canadian Education Indicators Program (PCEIP) are to develop and maintain a set of statistics that provide information about education and learning in Canada and to support evidence-based policy making.
Each year, this series presents indicators for Canada and its provinces/territories, placing them in a broader international context.

The Pan-Canadian Education Indicators Program (PCEIP) is an ongoing initiative of the Canadian Education Statistics Council, a partnership between Statistics Canada and the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada, to provide a set of statistical measures on education systems in Canada.

This guide lists and briefly describes the main sources of data on elementary and secondary education. For each source, it gives: data coverage; main variables available; strengths and limitation of the data; historical continuity; frequency and means of dissemination; and indication of the type of analysis that can be performed.

Based on StatsCan surveys that provide information on adult education and training (i.e. Labour Force Survey, General Social Survey, Adult Education and Training Survey).

This survey was designed to determine such factors as: the extent to which graduates of postsecondary programs had been successful in obtaining employment since graduation; the relationship between the graduates' programs of study and the employment subsequently obtained; the graduates' job and career satisfaction; the rates of under-employment and unemployment; the type of employment obtained related to career expectations and qualification requirements; and the influence of postsecondary education on occupational achievement.

This survey collected information on the level of education attained, experiences in school, family background, etc., from individuals 18-20 years old who were classified into one of three groups: dropped out of high school before graduation; still in high school; and graduated. The original survey was carried out in 1991, with a follow-up done in 1995.

This report presents results from the Survey of 1995 Graduates Who Moved to the United States. Both the survey and this report were conducted in partnership between Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) and Statistics Canada. The survey covered post-secondary graduates from the class of '95 who moved to the U.S. between graduation and the summer of 1997. These graduates were surveyed to obtain information on their characteristics, reasons for relocating to the U.S., education and work experiences, and plans for the future.

This survey is designed to determine such factors as: labour market and mobility plans after graduation; how graduates funded their doctoral studies; how much, if any, debt they accumulated during their studies; and the time required to complete a doctoral degree. In addition, information on educational history and socio-economic background is collected.
