United Nations

The United Nations is the largest intergovernmental organization in the world.  Its mandate includes peace and security, economic and social development, human rights, and international law.  Established in 1945, the UN currently has 193 members and is composed of six main organs:  General Assembly (GA); Security Council (SC): Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC); Trusteeship Council; Secretariat; and the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
