Tip

When searching the web for associations, try a few different searches if your first search doesn't work well, as there may be more than one way to describe your industry e.g. canadian pet products association or pet foods association canada.

Industry Associations

Industry associations often provide:

  • industry news
  • profiles
  • trends
  • statistics
  • legislation & regulations
  • member directories
  • research reports
  • lists of events or tradeshows
  • consumers & behaviour

Use Google or another search engine to search for industry associations relevant to your industry in your location.

If you don't find a relevant industry association, try broadening your geographic area (e.g. from Vancouver to British Columbia, or from Canada to the U.S. or international).

If your industry is very specialized or new, look for associations for broader or similar industries.
