Irena Trebic, Reference Librarian, created a research poster presented at the Ontario Library Association Conference in February 2017, and at the ACRL Conference in March 2017. The poster can be viewed via UBC Library's Open Collections portal.
Irena's poster sheds light on the exhibition curated by UBC Library's Rare Books and Special Collections which explored the impact of the Harry Potter series on the local Vancouver business community, which was followed by a user survey. This innovative, collaborative project enhanced discoverability of our collection, highlighted the local impact of a publishing phenomenon, made thematic connections between academic business research and popular fiction via a new research guide, and provided opportunities for student engagement (eg. scavenger hunt, crossword puzzle, etc).
