SLAIS has developed a First Nations Curriculum Concentration to serve the educational needs of information professionals to work effectively in libraries and archives, both within and outside native communities.
The award (est. $1500) is offered to an Aboriginal graduate student in a University of British Columbia's School of Library, Archival & Information Studies (SLAIS) program in consultation with the First Nations House of Learning and Faculty of Graduate Studies.
Aboriginal Training Program in Museum practices offers First nations, Métis, and Inuit participants professional and technical training in research, collections, exhibitions, public programs, public affairs and publishing, development or museum services.
American Indian / Alaskan Native students who are enrolled in, or have been accepted to and will enroll in a master's degree program in an American Library Association accredited library school are eligible. Amount: $2000 USD.
